Shweta Upadya discovered her passion for dance during her elementary school years and continued learning and performing throughout middle and high school. After taking a break during college, career, and motherhood, she rekindled her love for dance in 2012 alongside a group of friends who shared a similar journey back to the stage.

Since then, she has performed at various community events in the Seattle area, including Ugadi and Diwali celebrations, Ananda Mela, and the Northwest Folklife Festival. Shweta is also a strong supporter of the arts and has actively encouraged and supported her daughter's Bharatanatyam journey, contributing her time to coordinating dance events, performances, and practice sessions within the dance community.
